Our farm Mil Cumbres is located in the area of Paraiso, Volcan, named Cloudvalley because of the beautiful cloud shade we get from the Pacific Ocean breeze.
Our Geishas are harvested from the lot located at 1700 masl next to our cupping room a unique place on the elevated slopes of the Barú Volcano, less than 31 miles from the Pacific Ocean and the Carbean Sea, which renders a unique thermal exchange over rich volcanic soils where our coffee grows in a one of a kind environment in the world.
We ask our pickers to wash their hands, use hairnets and food grade gloves to handpick only red Ferraris colored cherries. Then the cherries are taken to the mill in baskets not sacks, at the dry mill we execute two steps, one to remove the floats with spring pure water and remove the cherries that broke during the harvest and or with any deffect.

For our Naturals:
We first float the coffee and select or discard by hand all the ones with defects, then we pre dry them 24 hours and later to the African beds covered with ultraviolet film.
The water we use at comes from a artisan spring located at 2,000 masl within the Volcán Barú National Park boundaries. It’s a pure, completely natural, clean and crisp water.
The beans are slowed dried for the next 30-40 days in the African beds (thickness of inch and a half at the most per square), the average temperature is 26C the highest and the lowest at night is 15, averages 17 degrees. Humidity it is controlled via solar panels, since we don’t have electrical power, we can assure we are completely green!
We do not pour, use, intervene or by any means use accelerators or aggressive fermentation processes, or fruits, malt or yeast, literally nothing.
Our Geishas are all processed at Mil Cumbres mill at 1720 masl, therefore the slow drying process and high altitude of the plantation brings lots of fruity notes plus florals.
In our mill our equipments are small for small batches in order to control quality and deliver the best beans for our dear clients.
