Brew Guides

Brew Guides:

Orea V3/V2

I typically brew them all on a Orea V3. Keeping 1:15 to 1:17 ratio of coffee: water.

Bloom First Pour : 1:3 ( Grounded Coffee : Water ) for 45 seconds. So if you have 15 grams of grounded coffee, then I'd go with ~45-55 ml of water for the bloom.

2nd pour slow circular pour's - 70 grams

3rd pour slow circular pour's - 70 grams

Final pour remaining water in smaller steps until I hit a total brewing time of 2.30-2.45mins

V60

Pre-wet and heat filter and brewer. Create a dip in grounds.

Bloom with 60g water, swirl.

From 0:45, pour slowly in spiral motion to 320g (+260g).

At 1:50, gently swirl.

Brew for 3:15-3:30mins

Aeropress:

For almost all coffee process this AeroPress recipe will surely work.

This AeroPress recipe that we tried on all our coffee beans will make your cup balanced, sweet and mostly you will avoid getting an under extracted cup.

  1. Prep your aeropress in inverted position
  2. Add your coffee ground.
  3. Blooming - add 30g water, stir 5x, wait until 30s
  4. At 30s, pour water until 180gr then stir again 5x
  5. Wait until 1:30
  6. Flip your AeroPress and press slowly for 1 minute - should finish at around 02:30.
  7. Wait 20-30 seconds, then serve and enjoy!

Grinder settings : Depends on what grinder you use. But I use a JMax from 1zpresso and would use a 2.6 to 2.8 ie: 2 full round of rotation from the zero mark and then until 2.8.

With the above you are likely to get a balanced cup. In case you find the end brew too strong, then go coarser on the grind size.

Base Rules // We don't like a lot of rules in coffee brewing BUT - they can be broken :) So feel free to do!!

Water Temp - I'd like to play around with 88-92 degree on all our coffee

Coffee to Water Ratio : 1: 15 to 17 max

I also use a Lotus Water product so feel free to ask for receipes on this product.
